For early in the season, my trip had GREAT results. Its called "fishing" for a reason. If you were garunteed to catch fish, then we would call it "catching"

Feelin' Nauti Fishing Adventures
Based on conversations with the crew, October is a bit slower fishing than summer or winter. Wahoo are available but a tough bite. Same with Mahi. Barracuda are readily available though and provide a good fight and the locals eat them. We've eaten them on the island (for the first time) and found them to be excellent. If I came back solely for fishing, I would probably come in January-February

We all got a dolphin/Mahi Mahi, each of which came in at 20 lbs+-. I have caught a 50lb striped bass and could not believe how strong the dolphin was.

We prepared for rougher weather -- the winds can whip up a good rolling ocean -- even on the west "calm" side. Rain can come in fast and the sun will torch you -- so cover up as best as you can.
